Prepare yourself!
This business of music has the ability to take you into areas you weren’t expecting. You might have gigs on your calendar and then in a blink, they’re cancelled for whatever the reason. This has happened to me and will happen to you. Try to plan for these moments by putting some funds away for rainy days. Put yourself in a position to know as much as you can in your area of expertise and let people know of all of your skills. If you write, let people know. Pro Tools...let people know. You sing...let people know.

Being muti-talented or multi-technical can only be a plus in this business of music. There’s always new things to learn and you should learn them.
